What ever your dream business as unusual business is, just imagine for a moment that you had it now. Exactly as you want it. As big or small as you want it. With the right people motivated for the right reasons, doing work that takes your breath away.

Now ask who do you need to be to not only have this business thrive, but go to an even greater level because of you.

What kind of daily habits do you have that ensures this thriving?

What do you need to do less of, or give up?

These are great questions to contemplate.

Here is how I would answer these question.

Who do I need to be?

*Boldness and confidence multiplied by a factor of at least 30%

Work very closely with my amazing team and be far less self generating.

Doing work that only I can do, delegate all the rest.

Multiples of 20 times more disciplined with my time.

What would my daily habits be?

Stay healthy and fit, with my exercise, diet and sleep patterns as they are.

*Spend at least 20 minutes every day tuning into the needs of the business, the needs of the people, the needs of the clients, the flow of money and provisioning, the constancy of purpose and intention.

On at least a weekly basis take time to walk around and really deeply listen to my team, as individuals and as a collective. Hear what is not being said. Discuss opportunities and concerns. Explore.

What do I need to do less of, or give up?

I may need to get some of the information I read curated. I find value in staying across a large number of local and global issues. But it takes time.

I definitely need to give up feeling small and inadequate. Also being confused and ineffective. It’s Ok to not know, but in the not knowing I can still take action around finding the piece that may help me know. Or, if it is more appropriate, pause, and give the decision deeper consideration.

I may have to give up my leadership role in the business. If I am a hard core entrepreneur, then the business may thrive if I step aside and move onto the creation of another business.

*these are the two I will be focusing on.
